Producer

Romain Zordan took over half of the family vineyards in 2012, the other half going to his talented cousin Yann Bertrand. With his parents, they farm 8 hectares of old vines in Fleurie, Cote de Brouilly and Morgon. There is new life in Beaujolais, and Romain is squarely at the front of the pack, making fabulous, juice-driven wines that are a joy to drink and age exceptionally.

Farming and Winemaking

The Domaine has been certified organic since full conversion in 2009. The 80-year-old goblet vines are all worked by hand, and the vineyard is planted on granitic soil over sand, facing South East. Unsurprisingly given the age of the vines, yields are very low. Hand-picked bunches are macerated for 15-20 days. Vinification then continues with no additives. Maturation in barrel for 10 months before bottling without filtering, with little or no sulphites added.
