Friulian Pinot Grigio is lighter and more floral than your average. Grown in mountainous gravel vineyards by Andrea Stocco, the fourth generation winemaker at his family's estate, this is a clean and easy drinking style. 

Producer

Andrea Stocco is the fourth generation winemaker at his family?s winery in the Grave region of Friuli, a magical mountainous area in Northern Italy bordering Slovenia. Grave is known as the ?clone cradle? as the rootstocks developed here support vines which produce fruit of great intensity. 

Farming and Winemaking

The Stocco vineyards are red soil with gravel, and the Pinot Grigio vines are planted on flatter ground. The grapes are hand-harvested, then fermented in stainless steel, and aged sur lies for six months. The Pinot Grigio grape has naturally dark skins, and in Friuli, it is traditional to make a wine with a deeper colour and more body than in other parts of Italy.
