The noble house of Arras was designated in 1560 and the Rozier family became the proud owners in 1899. Sisters Anne-Cecile and Marie-Caroline Rozier have taken the joint helm since 2014, under the watchful eye of their Mother Claudine. The Chateau is in the village of Bourg on the 'Right Bank', so famous for Merlot. They are devoted to the many animals on the farm and committed to working sustainably and organically in harmony with nature. The sisters hugely value their family, "That's what makes us strong. Together, we bring to life this beautiful property that has been passed down to us by our ancestors. Each generation brings new ideas, new projects and protects heritage."
In Greek mythology Rhea is the Goddess of the earth and of animals. The grapes are picked from 50 year old parcels selected for their fruitiness, they are de-stemmed and fermented in stainless steel with a gentle pump over to extract colour and light tannins. Malolactic fermentation follows, also in the stainless steel vats where the wine is kept until kegging.
