After traveling and studying abroad, including time in Scotland, Benedetta Margoni has returned home to work with her father Marco at the beautiful Dalle Ore winery, established by great grandfather Girolarmo Dalle Ore in 1903. Their vineyards are surrounded by the wild woods and meadows of the rolling Trissino hills and the entire valley follows a protocol which they call 'Regola della Valle d'Agno', a set of rules which respects ancient native agriculture principles. They are organically certified and use biodynamic methods. They enjoy a specific micro climate due to the Southern exposure and constant light breezes, and with volcanic basalt rich soils that are geologically unique, they produce truly terroir driven wines.
They organically grow Durella, Garganega, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Nero and Riesling Renano grapes and wine making is strictly low intervention. Garganega is the oldest of the native varieties to the area and thrives in the basalt soil. The juice is usually macerated with the skins for up to 40 days before fermentation in stainless steel using indigenous yeasts, but in 2023 Benedetta chose to bypass the skin contact. The resulting wine still has a 'grip' so often found in skin macerated wines which Benedetta puts down to the minerality of the soil.
