Producer

Raphael Saint Cyr is the fourth generation vigneron at Domaine Saint Cyr. Started by Raphael's great-grandfather, the vineyards and winery are based in Anse on the southern edge of Beaujolais,  about an hour north of Lyon.
Raphael took over in 2008 and immediately started working with vines in the Northern crus of Morgon, Regnie, Chenas, and Moulin-? -Vent, making delicious Beaujolais Villages from vineyards in Anse.

Farming and Winemaking

Raphael was excited to try using kegs for his wine (he'd never done it before) and, at the time, didn't have enough wine. He took on a 4ha site entirely for Kanon Keg which he has spent the last 2 years converting to organic viticulture. All his own vineyards are certified organic and the Domaine is the largest fully organic certified estate in Beaujolais.
Fermentation in cement tanks (traditional Beaujolais, and what Raphael uses for all his reds), with elevage in stainless steel.
